I'm considering my first PC build and wondering which option offers better performance—B550 or X570 motherboard. I've been comparing the Asus Rog Strix F for 550 and E for X570 in both configurations.

The distinction lies in the PCIe versions each chipset supports. The X570 provides PCIe 4.0 both from the chipset and the CPU, whereas the B550 offers 3.0 from the chipset and 4.0 from the CPU. The X570 includes additional PCIe lanes, but overall they're comparable. Think about your intended use and the peripherals you'll require.
