I changed my motherboard today using a B550 MAG, but after carefully assembling it I still couldn't boot. It took some time to figure out the issue—it turned out I hadn't updated my BIOS since I was using a 5600X, so I did update it and the EZDebug light stayed red. Assuming a loose connection, I removed the CPU cable, reinserted it, and finally managed to POST!

That's when things got frustrating. I was really excited and turned off my computer to reset everything, then put the side panel back on... but we were stuck at the same error. No matter how many times I swapped the CPU slots on my modular PSU or tried different setups, the red CPU error light kept appearing. Even after checking for bent pins and repositioning the CPU, it still wouldn't work.

I've had my build:
- Ryzen 5600X
- B550 MAG Tomahawk MAX WIFI
- Corsair LPX Vengeance 16x2, 8x2
- RX 9060 XT
- 2 M.2 drives
- SI-100 Cooler
- Corsair R750e PSU
- XR Wood Case

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm really hoping to get this working again!

The reason for replacing the mobo was likely due to compatibility issues with the current setup. The previous model was a different b550 Mag purchased from another source. It may be a brand new unit, but it's important to verify its fit and configuration before proceeding.

Did you assemble the components after the new board arrived? What's the age of the PSU in your setup?
Despite repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting the CPU cable, the red CPU error light keeps appearing.
Your motherboard includes a FlashBIOS button on the back. Follow this tutorial:
https://youtu.be/eNi0Y0CFDEI
and update the BIOS with the latest version available.
The link provided points to a board similar but not identical, so the general steps apply.
It would be wise to obtain a well-built PSU from a reliable source.

Hey! I wasn't sure about the term "breadboarding" since I only casually handle PC components. But the PSU was purchased today along with the motherboard—it should be brand new.
I also flashed the BIOs using the guide, but the successful boot happened right after, though no further boots came through. I’m considering whether reinserting my RAM sticks could help fix this. Since all the components in this build (excluding the PSU and motherboard) are from my last build—still recent parts bought this year—it might be worth trying that approach.

The reason for replacing the mobo was unclear, but it seems to be related to compatibility issues with the current setup. The previous one was not specified, but it appears to be a different model. This is not a brand new B550 Mag purchased from any known source.

It was the RAM! I gradually powered through each slot until all my RAM modules were up and running on my PC. I truly value both your and
@Lutfij's suggestions—I managed to boot consistently now. Thanks so much.
