Hello, I'm still trying to figure out if the B550 and X570 can handle my R5 5600X. I'm upgrading from a 6th gen i5 6600K and can't just change the BIOS. Some reviews mentioned needing to revert to older CPU models, update the BIOS, and then switch back to newer ones. I'm leaning toward the budget Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro, which costs about 160 euros. This choice is mainly because I need a USB C port and the first Gigabyte motherboard on the X570 platform with USB C starts at around 215 euros.

For these motherboards, you’ll need to obtain a BIOS update from the manufacturer’s website. Download the file and insert it onto a USB flash drive. Connect the USB drive to an available USB port on the motherboard—follow the instructions in your manual for the correct slot. Attach a power supply unit to the motherboard and press the designated button next to the USB port. Wait until the device stops blinking, ensuring the PSU fan has stopped spinning or any error messages appear. Once stable, remove the USB drive and you can install your new CPU. If your CPU matches the board’s requirements, simply replace it with the old one and install the new one.
