Hello, I own a B450M steel legend. After receiving it, I had to tweak the CPU voltage by 50mV so RAM wouldn't cause issues. A couple of days ago, my PC began having boot problems—no video when I tried to turn it on. When I powered it off and turned it back on, it worked. This morning I started it up and still got nothing. I've tried a few times but nothing changed. I cleaned the CMOS but didn't see any improvement. I also tried reseating the memory, but only once with one stick worked, then it stopped. It's not the GPU. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

What processor and RAM configuration are you using? For a dual-slot memory setup, are the chips located in slots 2 and 4 of the system? Have you attempted to reset the CMOS settings? Is your system running the most recent firmware update?

It's the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with a Crucial Ballistix Sport 3000MHz memory kit (2x8GB). They were originally in slots 2 and 4 until the system stopped working. I'm reassembling it now, putting them back into their original positions. I attempted to clear the CMOS but didn't notice any changes since I'm not updating the BIOS. According to what I remember, I'm using BIOS version 2.50: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M Steel Legend/#BIOS

I apologize, but I clarified that I meant to clear the CMOS instead of resetting the BIOS. Just shared the specifications.

Yes, you reversed the power supply, removed the CMOS battery for a few minutes, and then reassembled everything. You didn’t seem to be overclocking the 2700X at that time.

I took the battery out for a certain amount of time. You mentioned one stick works but both don't, so try slot 1 and 3 and see what happens.

I didn't wait ten minutes; I just pressed the power button for a while. I'll try the same and leave the battery out for a while. I had Ryzen Master installed, maybe it was running overclocked. I didn't do any manual overclocking, but it didn't work either. The system only posted with one stick once and then never again in any slots. I checked all possible combinations and put both RAMs as single sticks in all four slots. Sorry if that's not the right approach—I told my cousin to try that. Edited July 31, 2020 by Margott247

Disconnect all external connections, including the power cord and peripherals. Remove the device for a short period. It's improbable this will resolve the issue. Check the CPU for any bent pins and replace if necessary.

Five days prior, I was swapping the cooler to a Mugen 5. When removing the old unit, the CPU remained attached. I took it out smoothly without any issues and didn’t see any bent pins. I’m considering trying this again just as a backup plan.
