You're looking to decide between the B450 and B550 motherboards for your future PC, with a focus on compatibility with Zen 3. Both boards support Zen 3, but the B550 generally offers better performance and more features for modern applications. Consider your budget, planned upgrades, and workload when choosing.

What processor are you connecting it to and what is your price range? Amd mentioned the B450 can run Zen 3 with a BIOS update if manufacturers release it. Msi assured they will support Zen 3 on their B450 models.

I considered matching it with 3600, but I saw a mention that Zen 3 is expected soon.

Ready for the next step if you need it now. If you're comfortable with a delay, keep waiting until Zen 3 is available.

I don't have specific details about Zen 3's release timeline. You might want to check official sources or announcements from Microsoft for the most accurate information.

The official launch date for the AMD release hasn't been confirmed yet, which means the exact timing remains uncertain. Based on current reports and AMD's statements so far, early Q4 seems to be the likely window.

With a solid, functional setup in place, it makes sense to hold off and watch for Zen 3’s release.
