I'm considering the final setup for my build. I was leaning toward the B450 Tomahawk Max with my Ryzen 5 3600, but a YouTube video suggested the B450M Mortar Max might be a better choice. I've been researching this week and usually thought the Tomahawk was the top option for a R5 3600. I didn't know about the Mortar Max until now. Checking Japan Amazon confirmed it's available at a similar price to the Tomahawk Max. The B450 Tomahawk Max is $130 and the B450M Mortar Max is $133. Despite the price difference, the Mortar Max seems to be a smaller board. My confusion comes from wondering why it would be considered superior.

The difference in PCIE slots is noticeable, especially with the Tomahawk model which includes an additional slot. This extra slot isn't considered significant to most users. In general, a standard ATX case works with mATX boards, but choosing a smaller case could be beneficial if you prefer. I'm just going to assume the word 'but' should mean 'not'.

Since you intend to use only one graphics card and no sound card, the slot configuration should suffice.
