B350-F MB 3600 to 5800XD3
Hey everyone, I was hoping someone could assist me. I’m planning to upgrade from a 3600 to a 5800XDS (since Paradox games are on my mind). But no matter what I do, the system won’t boot. I still have power, and the CPU installation looks good. I’ve tried a few things: 1) Updating my BIOS to ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING BIOS 6063 and version 6042 (I’m stuck on 6042 because it’s not a beta), 2) Clearing the CMOS for 30 minutes to reset the BIOS, and 3) Removing one RAM stick at a time to check if that’s the problem. The RAM seems fine. Everything works perfectly again when I switch back to the 3600. It’s close to deciding whether to replace my memory or take it to a repair shop. Thanks for reading!
The AFAIK 300 series mobos aren't compatible with 5000 series CPUs. There was no BIOS explicitly confirming support for the 5800X3D with RYZANMAN.
This model has been around for a while and people say it performs well.
Is the image suggesting the bios won’t fit the 5800XDS? Would you like recommendations for a B550 model compatible with your B350F?
That process isn't standard. B550 and B350 aren't interchangeable. BIOS updates can't be applied directly between them. They're different chips with unique settings. You should avoid modifying BIOS settings unless you're certain. Do you perform the CMOS reset pin adjustment?
