This concept could work well. It would honor games that have remained unchanged since release, highlighting their stability and the effort behind maintaining them. It acknowledges developers who choose to stick with a polished, self-contained experience rather than relying on ongoing updates. This approach could celebrate the value of curated, offline-ready titles while encouraging appreciation for craftsmanship over constant change. Your perspective is valuable.

The fact that releasing a game before its ready being common place is down right ridiculous. I have no problem with games being delayed a month so it ships finished. We (culture) have become too accepting of software being a "service" and expecting follow up patches or DLC's to fix a released game before it ready for deployment. I dont think companies should be awarded for doing the job expected of them. Awards for doing the job beyond expectations is acceptable. I dont award a builder for giving me house not finished so why would I for anyone else?

Games often launch before they're fully polished, which is surprising. It's frustrating that such projects require constant updates just to fix minor issues. If studios like EA and Ubisoft invest effort into creating a solid product without needing additional downloadable content or patches, that would be ideal. It's irritating when patches are needed only for non-bug-related problems, especially during early releases. GTA V and its online version show what a successful launch and ongoing support should look like. The game is now bug-free and free, with regular updates released. However, some content that should have been included from the start feels missing, often behind a paywall. This is disappointing, especially for titles like Sims 4 where such barriers are common. I've been playing Sims 4 recently, so it's important to share this perspective. The solution is clear: if something should exist, it must be available.

Thanks for the feedback. Usually I view awards skeptically—they often boost sales more than they add value. But I’m getting tired of games arriving incomplete and relying too much on online connections.

The awards might need to recognize all games that received day one updates or similar changes.
