You might have noticed some discussions about my NAS setup. I replaced a Dell Vostro 3681 with it as my NAS. There were two startup issues stopping me from launching: one about a missing keyboard and another about a missing power button (the original one has some pins missing, which causes the alarm). By turning off headless mode, these problems usually disappear. I thought that fixed everything! However, every few starts the system runs a hardware check on all components for 1-2 minutes. Afterward, you need to click "continue" with a mouse. Since I power off the NAS each night, this is frustrating. One morning, when I turned on the smart plug from my phone, the NAS failed to boot despite waiting. I realized it must have run its self-test. Now I have to carry a monitor and mouse just to press a button and get it up. I disabled SupportAssist in BIOS, but it still performs this test. How can I avoid this hardware self-check?
