Hello everyone, I'm working with an old laptop that has a failing HDD. I understand this isn't ideal, but I'm willing to go through it. The main problem is that when trying to install Windows, the system blocks the process because of the damaged drive. Is there any way around this check so I can still install Windows?

Obtain a fresh storage device. Avoid inferior ones—they're not worth your effort.

You might face challenges while setting up the operating system and worry about issues arising later.

You already have a Linux distribution set up, so the hard drive isn't too poor to function. Before you added Linux, Windows was installed and it operated fine.

Windows features a built-in verification that cannot be turned off. Stick with Linux.
