I have an Lenovo IdeaPad running Windows 10. I have an HDMI port, but nothing else that can connect to a monitor. I just bought a second hand HP display. When I connect the display and the computer by HDMI my screen gets mirrored on the new display just fine. But when I go in to settings to adjust the new display differently than my laptop screen Windows claims to only find one display. I tried connecting an old (not smart) tv as well and same thing there. The tv shows my screen, but it doesn't show up as a different display in setting.
