It's surprising how WiFi 6 devices only offer 2x2 MIMO while the nanoHD supports 4x4. I think since both models share a Gigabit Ethernet port, the upgrade in WiFi 6 should still provide noticeable gains. It's really annoying that 2.5Gbit ports aren't considered standard for WiFi 6 access points, missing out on many advantages.
The wifi6 model is positioned below the nanoHD. The 6lr resembles the nano HD and likely includes a 4x4. A 2.5GbE connection would be ideal, though the PoE switches are expensive, and achieving speeds close to 1GbE remains challenging for most applications.
The ‘HD’ devices usually include extra antennae to support many simultaneous client connections in dense wireless areas. They’re built for over 200+ clients. The UniFi 6 Lite is a compact 2x2 unit, but still performs well. The UniFi 6 LR offers a 4x4 upgrade, allowing more concurrent connections. Ubiquiti has faced criticism for not improving their 1GbE uplink ports on mainstream APs recently. With WiFi 6 delivering faster real-world speeds than 1Gbps, the focus is shifting. Keep in mind, advertised bandwidth reflects total upload/download activity at the AP, not just through the wired link. Ubiquiti may be developing newer models for their beta phase. For higher uplink speeds, consider more advanced APs (like the one Linus installed) or switch to a reputable brand.
