I checked similar discussions but found no clear answers. You have a Windows 11 machine at home with several apps needing login before they launch. Things like HoneyGain, Mystnode, and your TV tuner recording service are running. But after overnight crashes or updates, they stop working for days until you check. You’re looking for a way to enable autologin without being present. Back in the past it was using a reg key, then MS AutoLogon, and netplwiz wasn’t set up properly. It seems the issue might relate to AzureAD or Microsoft accounts. Are there any tools or apps that let you keep autologin active when you’re not there? No problem with Windows Hello, but the reboots are causing gaps. Thanks for sharing your setup!
Do you have Windows Hello activated? It seems to block automatic sign-in, which is set as the default. Turning it off (like removing the pin) might restore the login option in netplwiz. I'm not entirely sure if this applies to domain machines either, but it's worth trying.
I got pulled into a deeper dive now. The Pin remove choice is hidden, which makes sense since I’m using a Windows Hello Pin login. I’ll tackle the removal part first and then move on to the password step.
I'm currently testing. My environment is set up on Windows 11 (Education) with an AzureAD sign-in account. I'm using a personal Microsoft 365 tenant. The setup has some issues—local group policies are disabled for Windows Hello, but the PIN and password still function after reboot. In the Accounts section, PIN and other Windows Hello options appear grayed out. Running the SystemInternal AutoLogon app resolved the problem.
