You can configure one Ethernet port to function as a passthrough switch by setting it up as a bridge or using a network interface controller. This allows traffic from another connection to pass through it.

Configure a virtual network switch within your operating system. Check for "create network bridge" if you're using Windows.

This connection functions more like a central point rather than a simple switch. @BuckGup You're likely aiming to monitor ports, and a bridge could be suitable for that purpose.

I’m actually aiming for 1 gigabit to a nearby device without going through the router’s internal switch. Instead of installing new cables or upgrading switches, I’d prefer to see if it can work right away.
