I updated the RGB hubs and connected them to the motherboard headers, then installed aura sync. Everything worked after a restart, but now I get a warning to download new aura services. Since I already had the same files, I tried reinstalling again, but nothing changed. The RGB reset to rainbow after restarting, which is confusing because I didn’t change anything and kept using the same installation file. Someone could help explain why this happens.

Checking the operating system version. Also confirming the CPU and RAM specifications for this model.

Consider using OpenRGB for your project.

You can store your settings in a profile, but you're free to use ddu to remove all aura drivers and start over.

The Windows update is KB5063878. I'm using an i5-14400F with 16 GiG of patriot viper steel sticks. I attempted openRGB but it didn't work for the fans. I'm unsure about saving preferences with aura sync, so I plan to try uninstalling and reinstalling ddu just to see if it works.

Yeah try ddu but no guarantee of that working. Could be a faulty driver or maybe something wrong with the motherboard

It seems the problem isn’t related to the GPU drivers but to Aura Sync. You might want to look for alternatives like DDU or other synchronization tools that work in this context.

Use the official ASUS uninstall utility for removal. Install the standalone Aura Sync tool instead. The provided download should work with your board despite official restrictions, such as on AM5 X670E models. It's a lightweight program that starts automatically at boot without affecting system tray or causing delays. During POST/BIOS it displays a rainbow effect, then transitions to the colors you configure after Windows loads.

Through some investigation I realized the issue wasn't the Aura sync I initially thought, but rather the Aura creator tool bundled with the Armory crate. Removing the entire Armory crate still left the RGB settings intact after a restart.
