Random audio pops from laptop are happening regardless of headphones or speakers. I've attempted several fixes: ran Windows diagnostic, adjusted audio settings, disabled extra devices in Device Manager, modified bit depth and sample rate, ensured drivers were current, switched power modes, changed PCI Express power management, prioritized the audiodg.exe process, and altered system affinity. The OS version is Windows 11 Home 64-bit. I'm struggling to identify the root cause and would value any advice.

Unlikely. The popping seems irregular, but tends to happen at higher frequencies or louder sounds usually. Similar popping noises appear when no device is connected to the 3.5mm jack, and identical sounds occur even with the new headphones plugged in. Both the headphones and laptop were bought recently and used very little.
I noticed several steps appeared to lower the frequency of popping sounds, though none fully removed it. This supports my idea that it isn’t caused by a hardware problem.
I believe I resolved the issue. It seems just adjusting the process priority to high for my music streaming app would help, and I haven’t tried any other programs yet. Occasionally I still notice audio quirks, but I’m unsure how to proceed. Considering a DAC?
I've faced a comparable problem with my previous setup. The only solution that worked was employing a USB DAC. Honestly, that's a solid approach—if you're able to obtain one.
