I'm using the built-in window tool to check each speaker separately. Also, I'm pretty sure my sound card can handle true multi-channel surround up to 7.1. I purchased it specifically for that reason when I bought a Razer Tiamat headset (not recommended). The card has separate 3.5 mm jacks for all seven channels. I would just plug in the AUX cables and use them if my AV receiver had those ports.

Nvidia is definitely set to default playback in the audio control panel. I don't have a dedicated surround sound test installed except the built-in one, and the one that came with the sound card. Both produce identical results.

The sound card's analog jacks work fine with surround sound, only optical connections are relevant for AVR devices. Does the AVR actually receive PCM signals from the computer or graphics card? It should decode them. Anyone with a PS3/4 or 5 could test playing Bluray/DVD movies to check receiver settings if needed. HDMI audio from graphics cards is straightforward, but this isn't happening here.

It appears to function with my phone's Bluetooth, though it's tricky to confirm since phones aren't always set up for this. I'll try using a known good device to test it. I have a switch and believe it has a surround sound mode, so I'll check if that works tomorrow.

I've discovered a fix for this problem—it was related to my sound card. Removing it solved everything. Thanks.
@dwd999
Appreciate you bringing it up first. I'm sorry for the delay.
