I tried a different BIOS but audio still crackles and pops. The only adjustments I made were to voltage levels, mainly to prevent the CPU from receiving excessive power since Intel chips often fail under high loads. I haven't done any overclocking or other changes.

I recommend reinstalling audio device drivers during BIOS updates. This isn't always a straightforward solution. Also, consider using a USB audio adapter after changing the BIOS version. Keep the BIOS voltage settings unchanged while you troubleshoot.

I tried both the latest Realtek and the standard Realtek drivers. I also tested with the Soundblaster Play 3, but it didn't work, so I went back to the most recent BIOS update.

Have you explored BIOS version 7D37v1C? It doesn't seem to be working, so it might not be useful.

I haven't tried it yet, but I think the issue isn't tied to the BIOS version right now. The noises you're hearing—popping sounds in this video and popping when closing out—along with static and crackling from moving the 50hz test audio slider—suggest something else is at play.

Also, here's a SS of the driver section of LatencyMon

- typical culprits at the top so nothing seems out of the ordinary.
Front page for good measure:

the pagefaults are from having Path of Exile open, so nothing strange going on there as well.

I'm connecting Toslink optical from my Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX's I/O into an Xduoo XD05, then to a Rockford Fosgate punch 45 powered by an Astron 70A linear power supply. This setup drives a set of Drop + MrSpeaker Ether CX planar magnetic headphones.

I'm running Windows 11 and experience popping and static when changing the YouTube volume, especially when the main Windows audio level exceeds 50%. At lower levels, no noticeable noise appears while adjusting the onscreen slider.

The issue seems linked to YouTube. Adjust your audio level through Windows rather than directly via YouTube.

I also see the problems on Twitch and when shifting the main audio slider, though that could just be my nerves. Don't worry about the dust—I blow it every few days, the living space is fine.

Just confirming you didn't accidentally switch to the analog audio out.
