Hello everyone, I've noticed my CPU and GPU usage staying around 30% even though frame rates are low in Minecraft. This is puzzling since my PC (GT730 and i3 3220) isn’t powerful enough to run the game smoothly. I’m not sure what’s causing this and would really appreciate any advice or fixes. Thanks in advance!
Minecraft runs inefficiently and relies a lot on the CPU, leading to only 20-30% utilization at any moment. Even powerful machines need Optifine for optimal performance. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can download it from http://optifine.net/downloads.
I've tried OptiFine and it's consistently showing 30% GPU and CPU usage, not the expected 30% on either. This seems new, and I haven't had this problem before. Appreciate any assistance you can provide.
I noticed that Minecraft only exceeds 50% CPU/GPU usage once it starts up. Once it’s running, usage stays around 30% consistently. Have you experimented with older versions like 1.8, 1.9 or 1.10? Are you already playing at lower settings? Do you make use of all the optimizations Optifine provides?
I’m seeing around 30 frames per second with roughly 30% GPU and CPU utilization, even though the system is configured for unlimited frame rate and this isn’t related to any changes in graphics settings.
I'm not completely confident in assisting you. The CPU/GPU stats your computer shows while playing Minecraft are typical, but your gameplay performance isn't matching. Most of the frames visible in the game won't influence these reports. Right now, I'm mainly concerned about the fact that these results reflect your CPU's integrated graphics, which usually shouldn't be used when the graphics card is active. I just want to confirm your display cords are connected to the graphics card, not the motherboard.
