Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience. I followed the usual steps—using a USB to download the installer and performing a clean setup. Since I already had Windows 11 installed on an ISO file on my Ventoy drive, I didn’t plan to reformat it. However, after the installation, I encountered some issues where the system would start but never display the Windows logo, leaving me with a black screen.

I tried reinstalling Windows multiple times, but the problem persisted. Eventually, I decided to switch to Windows 10 for a stable experience. Later, I thought about upgrading back to Windows 11, but it seemed risky given the instability I was facing.

On my end, I noticed some unusual behavior: my System Reserve for the "C" driver or OS was listed under disk management as disk 0, while the actual G drive was merged into that reserve file. Even after shrinking the reserve file by 2 MB, it added back 2 MB to the C drive. It appeared that the C drive should actually be on disk 0 but is showing up as disk 4 in the MBR.

I’m attempting to convert my drive to GPT every time I run the command prompt with admin rights, but I keep getting an error when using the MBR2GPT tool. The log indicates that MBR2GPT was specifically asked to run in full OS mode.

Consider using MiniTool partition wizard free version. It simplifies converting files to GPT format.

Disk 5 in that picture is already a GPT. Here’s what I’d do:
1. Set up a fresh Windows installation USB using the Windows Media Creation Tool.
2. Power off the system and disconnect all drives except the one you’re installing on.
3. Start from BIOS, ensure CSM is off and the board is in UEFI mode.
4. Connect the Windows USB, then boot and press the Boot Menu key (F8 or F12, varies by model).
5. In the installer, completely erase the system drive before proceeding.
6. After installation finishes, connect your other drives.

I'm going to attempt it, though disk 5 in that program corresponds to disk 4 here.

You observed the GPT command appearing as 'gpt' before it stopped working, then returning to 'gpt' again. You plan to test it differently tomorrow morning.
