You're facing an issue where your Windows 10 Pro can't clone a larger hard drive to a smaller SSD. Have you explored alternative methods like using a third-party cloning tool or checking if the drive size matches the SSD's requirements?

Start by checking the HDD and SSD sizes. You'll need to split the partitions smaller, which can be done using tools like GParted. This process might be tricky if you're not comfortable with Linux. Some programs can handle it automatically, but they’re usually paid.

The hard drive holds 2TB, yet only 1.2TB is available, while the SSD contains 120GB.

Well, thats to much data. Partitions can be made small if there is unused space, but if its all in use then we got a problem there. Do you have the data and opperating system at 2 different partitions? If so then we can just only clone the partition with the operating system to the SSD and keep the HDD for only the data.

It's on a single partition since I assumed I wouldn't need to relocate it after installing Windows.

Alright, next question then. Do you have unallocated space available to you at the hardrive? (Can be checked trough drive manager) If the awser at that question is no too, then youre probably stuck at moving stuff over to other drive or storage device and just reinstall windows.

Is there a method to divide the single partition without formatting the storage space?
