I've been attempting to set up Windows 7 on my Lenovo S410p by making a fresh 100GB partition. Initially, the installer mentioned the partition wasn't GPT-formatted and I proceeded anyway. After restarting, the installer froze during Windows 7 loading. When I force-closed the laptop and switched to Windows 8.1, it reported incompatibility. Upgrading Advisor highlighted Lenovo ACPI-Compliant Virtual Power Controller as the issue. Would formatting the entire disk resolve this? There seem to be some problems with Windows 8.1 and I'm unsure if that matters.
