I've been working on setting up a gaming rig for my girlfriend to play Borderlands 2, pre sequel and 1 using old hardware I already own. This has been my first major build attempt. The GPU tests came up with GTX660, GT640, and a random AMD 1GB RAM stick. First try: the duel x79 chipset didn’t post, tried different GPUs but none worked—random PSU and RAM issues popped up. Error codes A, 69, and 67 appeared. Second attempt: an i7 860 didn’t respond after the same steps; still no success with DDR3 RAM. I checked every possible RAM and CPU combo, but beep codes kept showing problems. Third try: used a ddr3 AM3 board, same results—no errors, mixed components. One board worked fine, others had issues. I also tried an M4A87TD EVO DRAM LED board, which either blinked or kept blinking, and it would loop or stop beeping. Throughout, I kept trying different motherboards, CPUs, RAM, and power supplies, but nothing stuck. I’ve tested everything thoroughly—hardware verified, storage used, even tried as a server. I’ve changed CMOS batteries and thought about selling it untested, but I really need help figuring out what’s wrong here.
