Attempting to launch a rift cv1 on a Steam Deck
I understand it's not feasible and could slow things down. I have a project and can use virtual desktops, but I really like the controllers and speakers from the Rift. Yes, I know the loading times will be poor. I just want to play Beat Saber at work and enjoy working on projects. I’m running Windows 11 off an SD card on a Steam Deck, I have a dock and everything for the sensors and headset connection works. But the HDMI isn’t being recognized by Oculus software. I know it’s probably a decent cable since Windows was cloning the desktop and I could see the screen through the headset. However, Oculus isn’t picking it up either. In Windows settings I found an option to block that screen for special programs, which stopped the display from showing to the headset, but Oculus still didn’t notice it. I tried unplugging and plugging back in, used two different USB-C hubs without success. I’m worried I might need a direct HDMI connection instead of through a USB-C dock, since the Steam Deck only has one USB-C port. Is there a way to make it work? I’ve looked around but no one seems to have solved this issue with Quest 2 and virtual desktops. I was unable to find any advice from others using the Rift CV1 with the deck.
