You have a Z590 AORUS PRO AX motherboard and a 500GB M.2 drive. You're thinking about moving to a faster SSD, specifically a 4TB M.2 NVMe PCI-E G4 SSD. Since you're new, it might help to start with the basics—check what storage options are available for your PC build. The recommended upgrade is an SSD, but the suggested model costs more than you'd like to pay. Your main concerns are compatibility and performance. Upgrading the CPU to a 12th-gen Intel chip would be great for running Unreal Engine 5 and Maya efficiently, but it may not fit with your current motherboard. It’s usually better to upgrade the CPU first if possible, then move on to storage. For a new build, consider a reliable Z590 or similar AORUS Pro model that supports NVMe SSDs. If you need help picking a good replacement, look for models with PCIe 4.0 support and enough slots for future upgrades. Your current setup is solid, but the next steps should focus on matching hardware specs for smooth operation.

Hello! I'd recommend getting 2 Kingston 2TB NVME m.2's, they're by far the best for their price, and are very reliable! Here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-2280-Int...9694&psc=1

The limit for NVMe drives is currently 2TB. Moving to 4TB would be a significant increase, costing three times as much. It might be better to purchase a 2TB drive now and consider upgrading later.

He could purchase two units for roughly 200 USD, making it a reasonable cost for 4TB of SSD storage.

These SSDs are quite affordable compared to other options. The main drawback is their low price point. Keep an eye on restocks at the link provided. Priced at $249 for a 4TB model, they offer decent performance, high TBW rating, and a solid warranty.
