You can't modify it unless you erase the disk, according to what I know. If it's the C: drive you're aiming to convert, you'll need to reinstall Windows.

It won't help with your skill in turning on smart access memory; it's unrelated. You activate it through BIOS settings, and you might need to turn off CSM (UEFI's backward compatibility layer) to make smart access memory and Rebar work. Disabling CSM can change how the hard drive appears to the system, possibly causing Windows to refuse booting, which might require a repair or reinstall you won't understand.

When the disk is empty, you can use DiskPart to convert it. Some third-party partition tools claim to change MBR to GPT without cleaning first, but these often need you to purchase the software.
