Hey everyone, I just got a new 2TB Crucial P3 NVMe drive for my gaming storage. After installing it and turning on my PC, it just stays on the screen with instructions like "press del to enter BIOS..." It seems like it's trying to boot into that new drive. I'm confused because I already have a Samsung 970 EVO Plus with 250GB and two more NVMe SSDs. My current specs are R5 2600, Gigabyte RTX 2060, B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi (BIOS v30). No idea what's going on. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Verify your boot sequence in the BIOS and switch your Samsung SSD to the top priority drive, ensuring the Crucial drive is excluded from the boot order if needed.
My 970 EVO is set as priority. I can't delete the important storage because I can't access BIOS after installing it on my PC. After removing that drive, everything functions properly.
The problem seems related to PCIe lanes, but I'm uncertain why the GPU wouldn't automatically switch to x8 speed for both SSDs. You're having trouble accessing the BIOS even after pressing the del key to enter UEFI. What would happen if you relocated your GPU to a different PCIe slot?
Did you purchase this Crucial SSD from Amazon? There have been numerous counterfeit versions and subpar batches. The safest option is to return it before the deadline, which is typically 30 days depending on your location. For my budget models, I opted for the WD blue SN570 and experienced no problems at all.
It doesn't seem very promising. My sibling assisted me with the purchase while he was in Taiwan, so I'm hoping that's not the situation.
