Attempting an upgrade is not working.
Hey there! I just received my upgrade kit today—Asus ROG Strix B550-A with 32GB GSKILL 3200 memory and 5600X. I assembled everything and turned it on, but I’m seeing no display. Everything spins up except the GPU fans which stop after a few seconds. The QLED lights are cycling: they pause for 2 seconds on the DRAM, 1 second on the CPU, then 1 second on the GPU, repeating. I’ve looked into possible causes but haven’t found anything specific. I’ve checked all connections, re-seated everything, and still can’t figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA
Worked on an old RAM with a single slot and a dual slot. Removed the CMOS and still had no success. Further testing with two different GPUs all started up but then failed. Also tried using built-in graphics, but nothing worked.
No, I haven't updated the bios yet before installing the new CPU.
What power supply you're using seems to be the problem. It's not just about checking the connections anymore—it's time to disassemble everything and rebuild it from scratch.
Requires BIOS version 1004 or higher; possible issue is BIOS version.
