I recently attempted to overclock my MSI 970 gaming motherboard using a 6300 AMD Black Edition CPU. I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to proceed, adjusted the settings, and restarted the system. Initially, everything worked properly. After logging in, the PC would power up normally, but when I opened the start menu it would shut down immediately, though the power indicator on the front was still active. I had to turn off the back power supply to prevent further issues. Now the system fails to power on at all. When I try to press the power button, only a faint click is heard from the PSU. This is coming from a 750W XFX xxx edition semi-modular power supply.

Before attempting to overclock an Amd FX 6300 six core CPU, consider these essential checks.
First, ensure your system's power supply is of high quality, reputable brand, and capable of sufficient wattage. A 750w XFX is suitable.
Second, verify that the CPU cooler installed is not a standard one included with the unit but rather an aftermarket option offering superior cooling, such as a 212 Evo for air cooling or at least an AIO water cooling loop.
The FX 6300 comes with a default speed of 3.5Ghz.
Depending on your motherboard, the multiplier should have been adjusted to 17.5 Krieger.

a jumper should be used to reset the bios to factory settings, which should resolve the issue

It seems the motherboard might have failed, possibly due to a short circuit. I’m not sure if it was from overclocking or the CPU. My guess leans toward the motherboard being the issue.

Before attempting to overclock the Amd FX 6300 six core CPU, it's important to verify a few key points. First, ensure your system's power supply is of high quality, reputable brand, and has sufficient wattage—750W XFX is suitable. Second, confirm that the CPU cooler installed is not a standard one included with the unit; instead, opt for an aftermarket option like a 212 Evo for air cooling or at least an AIO water cooling loop. The FX 6300 comes with a default speed of 3.5Ghz. Depending on your motherboard, the multiplier should ideally be set to 17.5 Krieger. Also, note the multiplier value you applied to the CPU itself. If setting the BIOS fails to boot the system, perform a reset of the 750W XFX power supply unit to clear any protection circuits. Overclocking may have triggered one of the PSU’s safety features, which could explain why the system doesn’t power up properly when the power button is pressed.

What changes were made to the OC? Increased from 3.5 to 4.2 or 4.3.

I restored the CMOS but nothing altered. I'm sure my PSU is fine since the CPU cooler lights activate right away and I still hear that single click.

I just tried using my friends' PSU and the same issue is happening, so I think the motherboard might be missing. I've already ordered a replacement and it's on its way (thanks Amazon Prime), thank you all for your support.
