That happened because PhysX was being executed on the CPU instead of the GPU.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but isn't Physix more of a Nvidea concept rather than a MAD one?

NVIDIA acquired PhysX in 2009 but it remains functional on the CPU side—likely explaining the drop in the user's frame rate.

Yeah, my friend uses an NVIDIA GPU and PhysX mainly to cut down the frame rate in Borderlands to unplayable levels. It’s only useful if you have a dedicated PhysX card.

A specific PhysX card isn't necessary anymore. With a powerful enough NVIDIA graphics card, it should handle PhysX smoothly.
