When the update was first released a few months ago, it worked smoothly for me. After installation, it would freeze and require a hard reset to restore the previous version. Eventually, I gave up on installing it through both Windows 10’s built-in system and the Update Assistant. Interestingly, the update reappeared two days later. Recently, it started downloading again, but still didn’t install properly. Any suggestions on resolving this? I also have an issue with my OS drive—details are here: Could it be interfering with the update?

Which antivirus software are you employing? Should you be using Symantec, you must remove it first.

Several issues popped up with my Windows, so I had to reinstall it. I waited for the upcoming updates and they worked just fine.

Consider using the built-in Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware together, even without real-time protection. If you want extra security, disconnect all peripherals except the mouse and keyboard, and disable any additional system drives.

Consider removing Malwarebytes and restoring it once the operating system is updated.
