attempt to increase ram speed failed and the computer no longer functions properly
i attempted to increase my ram's speed but noticed it only reached 1600 while it should have been 1866. my pc experiences a very difficult startup, and i’m unsure if there’s a solution. usually, i power off the system for a minute then restart, which works well except for some programs or games that don’t appear on the hard drive even though they’re installed. the hardware specs are listed as follows: ram – hyperx fury 1x8gigs, processor – amd fx-8370, video card – asus strix 660 ti, motherboard – gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3, power supply – cooler master 520w, case – thermaltake level 10 gt, cpu cooler – arctic freezer 13. i don’t think the case matters much, but the startup remains problematic.

I attempted it earlier from within the BIOS, but after updating the BIOS it seems to have resolved the issue.
i also tried it before from inside the bios, but after updating the bios it seems to have fixed the issue. ah glad it worked out. setting to factory doesn't always help because some settings might not change back. updating your bios is basically like clearing your cmos, which puts it back to a 100% factory state.
