Attempt to access RAM OC
Attempt to access RAM OC
Hello, I've got an i7 10700k with a 4x8 Corsair vengeance 2933 CL16, M.S. Mag Z490 Tomahawk, a NXT 850 PSU, and five case fans in a cool space. I managed to overclock RAM to 3100 and adjusted all main timings down by one without changing voltages. Then I removed the DRAM voltage from auto, increased it to 1.400V, and tried running 3200 on the RAM—still no luck. I also attempted to boost the CPU system agent voltage to 1.300V and set it to 1.200V at 3200 on memory, but that didn't work either. So am I really reaching the maximum of my modules before even adjusting voltages, or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks in advance!
To boost frequency, adjust timing settings initially and refine later. Vccio and SA should stay at 1.150v or less. Since you're not using 4000mhz RAM, extra voltage isn't required. Opt for dual modules or higher-rated memory chips—such as a 3600mhz CL 16 would work well. It makes sense to enhance performance from what you have, but a few hundred Mhz might not justify the time spent tuning your existing setup.
