Hello! I'm setting up a bigger power supply for your gear now that the fiber installation is complete. I'm a bit unsure about turning off the ONT Fiber Terminal—should I press the power button at the bottom and then shut down the whole strip? I want to avoid damaging the fiber cables. Thanks! - Kevin

The fiber cable simply transmits light without any issues. The ONT handles everything else. You can't turn it off like a regular computer—just cut the power and it stops working. It's usually safe, around 99.9999% of the time.

The 'do not disconnect' warning is misleading. You won't harm anything.

I've experienced AT&T fiber issues with frequent power fluctuations and outages, often affecting the ONT. Despite these problems, my connection remains stable. Damage to the fiber requires direct physical contact.

Avoid disconnecting the fiber from the gear. From a power standpoint, you shouldn't run into problems.
