I intend to assemble an affordable office computer using an Athlon 3000g processor and a Gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard. Will the board come pre-installed with Athlon support or will I need to upgrade the BIOS?

Certainly, some might install it right away. Others may need a software update, but if the board didn’t come with the latest bios, you can contact the vendor or store to get it updated. For a standard office setup, purchasing a used OptiPlex with 2400 should suffice.
