ASUS Zephyrus G15 2022 GPU issues with heat buildup Overheating problems reported for the GPU in this model
Hey there, I just had my laptop serviced (Asus Zephyrus G15 2022, Ryzen 7, RTX 3060) and now it’s acting up. The GPU keeps cranking at full power while games run, reaching temps of 98-100°C, whereas the CPU stays around 70°C—which is unusual since normally the CPU would be hotter than the GPU. Even after reapplying thermal paste, the problem persists. Simple titles like Minecraft barely manage 10 FPS. Before the fix, Minecraft ran smoothly at 400 FPS with the GPU around 50°C and the CPU at 90°C. I’ve reinstalled drivers, reset BIOS, and even downclocked, but nothing’s working. My laptop was supposed to be a gaming machine, yet it can’t perform its main task. In fact, the GPU hits 70°C while streaming YouTube—it’s really bad! I’m stuck with this situation. (Note: fans are clean, paste re-applied, drivers updated) The repair was caused by a MOSFET short and damaged RAM, both replaced. The laptop is back but still struggling with overheating.
