my pc has an issue where it keeps lighting up a white led in the mono section labeled vga, and when mouse and keyboard are turned on for 10 seconds it turns off. I can't see any video through HDMI or dp inputs. The manual only mentions it as an indicator without details on fixing it. My model is an asus z390e 2080 duke 16 gb ddr4 3666 i7 8700 k.

I connected both monitors to the GPU, not just one. When I disconnected everything from the GPU and restarted using the mono output, it worked. Then I removed the GPU from its slot and tried a different one—easy since it was vertical with an adapter—and it functioned there too. After switching back, it booted up successfully. It’s unclear if the issue was the slot or the GPU itself.

Your GPU is functioning properly and the monitor is connected back to it.

Sure, everything is now connected as it worked before, but it functions properly now.
