My MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC worked well with my 9900KF, keeping it steady at 5.1GHz across all cores. Around 5 minutes it started to blue screen when Windows launched.

It's not worth it for a 9700k budget—go for a Gigabyte Aorus Elite/Pro instead.

Ultra adds an extra M.2 port and a Type-C connection on the back, which feels overpriced for such a small improvement. The master model offers a better upgrade compared to the Pro.

the z390 elite offers better value at a lower price, though newegg now lists it at 170 usd compared to 150. If the prime-a model handles the 9900k, the vrm should run around 100c or more.
