I bought a new ASUS laptop recently, but its battery performance is quite poor. It only lasts about three hours even with minimal activity—just a few tabs, low brightness, no sound, power-saving mode active, and very few background apps running. Online reviews highlight much better battery endurance, with several praising the 'great battery life.' The laptop comes with an RTX 3050, 63-watt battery, and recent BIOS updates. I switched from Windows 11 to Windows 10 because the OS didn’t suit me. After a short period of use, the battery issues became noticeable again. I tried adjusting settings but couldn’t improve it. Upgrading to Windows 11 didn’t help either. Is the battery faulty? Could a clean Windows 11 installation resolve the problem? I’ve heard mixed experiences when upgrading from Windows 10 to 11, and battery tests via CMD consistently show the same results. Any advice would be appreciated.

Starting point for your question... how much discrepancy exists between the actual battery performance and your expectations? To uncover the full charge capacity, launch PowerShell with admin privileges and execute power powercfg /batteryreport. This generates an HTML report that you can view using your standard browser. Just as storage devices vary from their rated capacity, the real battery life may differ, so consider this when interpreting results.

Essentially the same as the design capacity.
