I need to swap out the motherboard on my family PC. The RAM slot stopped working. I thought my MSI bazooka B450 would hold up, but it didn’t. *gritting teeth* I recall a forum where someone shared an ASUS TUF Z97 Sabertooth that still functions. A friend recommended the ASUS TUF B550 Plus board. Is the TUF line still strong compared to the older Z97 models? I don’t want my system acting like MSI’s performance after a year.

It's all just marketing, with some poor-quality products. Perhaps you're experiencing bad luck. If you're not happy, avoid buying more Asus.

I've worked in the military before, but "military grade" doesn't really convey much. The lineup includes some excellent and some terrible products, but overall Asus performs well if you're looking to boost performance. I'd steer clear of Asus because their Z370 (390?) and X570 boards have had quality control problems. A friend's X470 Asus board is also causing issues, and our group has found Asus support to be extremely frustrating.

I’d start by submitting an RMA for your previous motherboard via MSI. I’ve encountered problems with chipsets from almost every brand before. I usually choose products based on current customer support quality.
