ASUS TUF B450-Pro Issues
Hey everyone, I'm trying to fix a PC with a titled motherboard. It powers on fine, but I can't see anything on a processor that isn't a first-gen Ryzen. I assumed an outdated BIOS was the problem, so I swapped in a Ryzen 5 1400 and got some good news. However, once I updated the BIOS to the latest version, it still worked normally with the 1400, but when I tried a third-gen (3600) or fifth-gen (5600X) Ryzen, the display disappeared completely. Both other Ryzen CPUs are functioning properly, and I've tested several working GPUs too—it's the same issue. My RAM sticks and coolers are all in good shape. I'm really puzzled and would appreciate any suggestions or clues!
The update didn't automatically reset everything to defaults. You'll need to manually apply the default settings and see how the new Ryzens perform. Searching online for your motherboard model can provide useful troubleshooting tips and solutions.
I started by clearing the CMOS, but it didn’t seem to help. For RAM training, I left it running briefly and still got nothing—maybe I should extend the time. My motherboard is a 2x8GB T-Force 3600MHZ unit. Unless I’ve been completely unaware, I don’t think there are debug LEDs on this board. I’ll have to inspect it more closely.
