ASUS Strix B550-F equipped with VGA LED lighting
I have a white LED on my motherboard. I’m not experiencing any problems with starting the PC or using Windows. Games and other activities work fine. I’m unsure why it’s on, but it disappears when I restart or wake the PC. I’m assuming it doesn’t affect performance and think reseating the GPU could help.
If the monitor started up after turning on the PC, it might have been a lack of signal and the VGA indicator lit. Some users fixed it by disabling fast boot, while others performed a power cycle and unplugged the HDMI cable. One person mentioned using an adapter and tried the same steps, which turned off the light. Generally, as long as the PC functions normally, it’s usually not a major problem except for minor annoyances.
Same white VGA light problem with no display. I tried everything—CMOS reset, BIOS flashback, disassembling the CPU RAMs, replacing the battery cell—but nothing worked. Eventually, I swapped the PSU PCI-E cables with the graphics card’s original ones (after using a market extension cable to the original PSU), and it booted normally.
It seems the VGA light appears to indicate it didn<|pad|> to detect a display during POSTing. This might also occur if the monitor takes too long to complete the EDID/negotiation process. If it still lights up, that’s a good sign! Just make sure your monitor’s firmware and GPU drivers are current.
