ASUS ROG STRIX B550 E or B550 F options available.
Hey! Just got a 5900x with specs around B55F to E. Not sure what the differences are, but any tips would be great! Also, I have a 3090 with 32GB RAM at 3600MHz—does that matter? Thanks!
The E model comes with a 14+2 VRM package while the F has a 12+2 VRM package. It also offers SLI support using two 16x PCI-E slots, which the F lacks. The B550E is the superior board for these two main reasons.
The B550 Strix-E doesn't provide significant advantages over the Strix-F that would warrant the price hike. Technically, it has a superior VRM compared to the Strix-F, but the latter already offers adequate VRM to manage the 5900X without issues. Voltage Regulating Modules essentially control the 12V power from the EPS cable to a safe level for the CPU.
