asus prime Z490-P build noise

I received a fresh PC with an ASUS Z490-P motherboard, an Intel i5 10400 processor, and the stock cooler. Recently it began making more noise than before. Two days ago the fans were running at normal RPM and the CPU wasn’t overheating. Could there be a coil whine issue? I tried a BIOS update but it didn’t help. Is there any chance it’s another problem? I’m very concerned because this is my music production rig and I’m really anxious.

Identify the source of the sound first. Coil whine tends to be high-pitched and quiet, whereas fan issues vary widely. Also, check for other moving components like hard drives or CD drives.

buzzing sound imo I'll make a recording when I'm home yes 2 HDD is there... it was all silent suddenly it started to sound annoying. I tried disconnecting everything slight noise is there in the psu... the bios is showing same RPM as earlier also around 40°c cpu temp is there anyways to to get rid of this noise from my build should i be worried... I hope its not a motherboard issue as I got it just two weeks back

If you believe you've limited it to the MB or PSU, consider exchanging the PSU to determine the correct model. If it's the MB and it's new, proceed with an RMA. For PSU issues, upgrading to a premium option could be beneficial for audio applications.

It sounds like coil whine is present. It doesn’t impact performance and won’t cause faster failures. The best solution is to swap out the component. I changed my PSU and GPU because of this issue, but my motherboard needs repair as well. In certain situations, removing it can be challenging, but if it doesn’t bother you, replacing everything might not be necessary. You might consider an RMA—some companies will cover it while others won’t. Today, many cases are handled this way.

You shouldn't worry too much—it's just been purchased recently, and you're attempting RMA. If it doesn't pose a real issue and won't impact its lifespan, you might skip the repair.

It's perfectly okay; it doesn't impact durability. Occasionally it disappears over time.

Thanks for the help. I rechecked everything... CPU temps are around 30-35, max usually hits 40, but it stays between 36-38. Chipset temperature isn’t logged. Fans spin at about 999 RPM. I’ll upload the recording you mentioned. 1547070279_NOISERECORD.wav
