Asus Prime Z390-P paired with Intel i5 9600K processor
I considered a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X, but realized my PSU (Corsair VS 650) lacks a 4-pin cable for the motherboard. It might be time to upgrade the PSU if connecting is required.
You don’t have to add the extra 4-pin; it’s not necessary. The 8-pin already delivers up to 384W straight to the CPU. An i5-9600K won’t reach 300W or more. You’d only need the 4-pin if you’re aiming for record overclocking—such as with an i9-9900K. Otherwise, using a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X wouldn’t be safe, since drawing around 500W would damage the board.
In Romania, the Z390 Gaming costs 150$, while the Z390 Elite is priced at 195$.
