ASUS PCE-AC88 PCIe Wi-Fi chip not found in Windows 11Issue: Device missing from system detection list
I placed an Asus PCE-AC88 PCIe wifi card in the bottom PCIex1 slot. My RTX 3060 is in the top PCIex16 slot and is running smoothly. I made sure all PCI drivers are installed and current, added the latest WLAN Asus drivers, and kept Windows 11 fully updated. The system still can’t detect it. In BIOS there’s no other setting indicating another PCIe lane is active except for the graphics card. I double-checked that all cables are securely connected and that the cards are properly seated. I considered using a USB adapter but worry about the distance from the router affecting speeds to 9600 baud. Any advice would be appreciated.
The remaining components are listed in the motherboard manual. The bottom PCIe x1 port is turned off when the top M.2 slot is installed.
I'm using a single WD 250GB SSD in the SATA_6 port. I've taken out all M.2 devices that might clash with the PCIe slot. I've checked ASUS and Windows forums for guidance. I've tested every other option but haven't found a solution. My setup includes a ROG Strix B365-F motherboard, Intel Core i7-9700 CPU at 3.00GHz, Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64GB memory, a 850W PSU, and the Corsair Hydro H100i v2 AIO WD Blue 250GB SSD, plus a GeForce RTX 3060.
You shouldn't return the card because it doesn't fit the setup. Using it won't work with the WiFi card slot on the motherboard. Even if it functions, you'll be stuck with just one NVMe drive. Be cautious about assuming a 4x4 card will perform well unless your router supports 4x4 MIMO and you're in close proximity to the router.
