Im almost ready to start this build, and was wondering about a couple of things with this board. -Is there anything in the bios I need to mess with from the start? From what I understand, I need to undervolt this CPU, but I would like to do that through Intels XTU. -According to the manual, I cannot use M2_1 bc it will share lanes. So my boot drive should go into M2_2, then use M2_3(games) and M2_4 for storage? Here is the complete list for the build. No need to lower the CPU voltage with a cooler that supports the 253w TDP. I'm using a Deepcool LT270 to keep it within Intel's BIOS limits. For the motherboard, update the BIOS before assembling the system. Let me know how it goes! My setup includes an i9-14900k, Deepcool LT270 cooler, MSI Suprim Liquid 4090 GPU, ROG Maximus z790 dark hero M.2, 2TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, 64GB G.Skill Ripjaws 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, Corsair RM1000e power supply, and Corsair 4000D case.
Hello, welcome! I'm here to assist with your motherboard setup. You're using an Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4070 with a watercooler, and you're considering upgrading your components. For the CPU, both Intel i7 and i9 are solid choices depending on your budget and performance needs. The ROG Strix Ryujin iii 360 offers great value, while the i7/i9 will provide higher performance for demanding games. Make sure to check compatibility with your existing RAM and case. Let me know if you need more details!
I face a problem with my configuration: i9-14900kf Asus Maximus z790 Dark Hero 32GB DDR5 7200 Nvidia 5090 FE. I connected it to a PCIX16_1 with Corsair 1500W and a Samsung 9100 Pro on M2_1. I couldn't get PCIe 5.0 support. After trying a 4060 Gen 4.0 on PCIX16_1, it still didn't work. I adjusted GPU and M.2 settings, manually set M.2_1 to 5 Gen and PCIX16_1 to (4 and 5 Gen). Finally, I got a Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 5 card and placed it there, but it's still listed as Gen 4.0. I've checked all BIOS options and nothing changed. Asus contacted me, but they're out of the region and don't have a clear solution.
Hey, the CPU usage during gameplay can vary widely depending on the game and your system. Generally, it tends to spike when running demanding titles.
No, he doesn't spend that much time continuously during play.
