I own an ASUS M5A97 LE R.20 motherboard paired with an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor. I aim to boost the CPU performance by overclocking. My CPU is cooled with a Coolermaster Hyper 412S and I've just spread Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste on it. Core Temp shows idle temps between 20-22°C and full load stays under 36°C. The newly cleaned Antec 900 case ensures all fans run at maximum speed, so cooling isn't a concern. Would it be possible to overclock the CPU on my motherboard for noticeable improvement?

Since your temperatures are stable, I recommend checking some overclocking guides and making minor adjustments. Make sure to turn off Turbocore and Cool'n'Quiet. A 1090T should reach at least 3.8GHz, and the motherboard shouldn't be a major hurdle.

Certainly! It seems like your temperatures are in a healthy range, so you might want to explore some overclocking resources and make minor adjustments. Make sure to turn off Turbocore and Cool'n'Quiet. I anticipate the 1090T could reach at least 3.8GHz. The motherboard shouldn't be a major obstacle.
