Hey, I have an Asus Zephyrus G14 and it’s not the most powerful setup. I’m having trouble playing games even at 1080@60fps. Most titles run smoothly, but I’ve checked frame rates with MSI Afterburner and they’re inconsistent—usually around 13 to 17 ms at that speed. My experience has been frustrating; everything feels choppy, especially when moving or aiming. I’m not sure if “smooth” is the right word, but the game stutters and looks sluggish. Specific issues: COD runs at 60fps but feels stiff, shooting is clunky and frame drops to around 30. In Battlefield 2042 and Valorant, the same problems appear. I’ve tried changing the refresh rate, adjusting settings, updating drivers, and removing unnecessary apps, but it doesn’t help much. I really want to play games without these issues. Any tips or info would be super helpful!

It might be due to overheating or unnecessary software. Someone with more experience will likely give you a better answer, probably laughing at me.

Might just be the ASUS ROG components and I’m not sure if removing them is necessary—it could affect things like the backlit keyboard. Regarding overheating, I’m not sure what the normal temperatures should be.

Make sure your laptop is connected, it usually works better when powered on and it can be frustrating sometimes, this might not fix it but it’s worth verifying.
