Asus Crosshair Hero VI (X370) paired with Ryzen 3xxx series overclocking setup
Hello everyone, I'm looking for some data on people who have used Ryzen 3000 series chips, especially the 3950X or 3900X on an X370 Asus Crosshair Hero VI. How has your overclocking journey been? Did you need to adjust any settings to keep memory or Infinity Fabric stable—like maintaining a consistent clock for several hours in stress tests? I managed to get a steady 4.3 GHz with just voltage tweaks, but once I checked memory frequencies or timings, stability disappeared. My BIOS is version 7601.
I'm also on 7601 for my C6H with no stability problems. My memory kit is here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X...UTF8&psc=1. I ran the Ryzen DRAM calculator and boosted it to 3600mhz without any issues at frequencies 16-16-16-32. The main takeaway is that for the CPU, I'm using the 3700x at stock speed. I tried pushing it to around 4.2 at ~1.35v, which helped in some areas but hurt others. So I opted to keep everything at stock settings since neither option was clearly better.
